The urethane-coated material with a durable water repellent finish causes water to roll right off.	Water Resistant Zipper Water won’t easily get through this urethane-coated zipper, designed with an edge to edge zipper face to provide maximum protection. The zipper’s seams are taped where they join the fabric to help keep water out.	Taped Seams Water can sneak inside even waterproof material through the stitching, which is why the Ultralight/Watertight nylon bag has taped seams. I added several more things to this kit for a SE Asia adventure to the Philippines. Medication is lacking in this, but easily added to the bag. Fortunately I didn’t need to test this kit’s full capabilities. However, it gave me peace of mind knowing I had it if needed. I’d buy it again for sure! I’m happy with the contents, despite the tweezers being small and unusable. I also replaced that with something legit.

My wife and I were going to be traveling to Maui, Hawaii. We are becoming more adventurous and planned several excursions around the island from Hiking to driving on some of the more remote roads to traveling to the top of the volcano Haleakala! So, I decided it would be a necessary accessory to bring with us. Its size allowed me to easily stow in my luggage and because ist very lightweight it was not even noticible in a backpack. I left it in my backpack which we brought everywhere we went and threw in the back of the Jeep anytime we were even leaving the condo. I have recently realized the importance of being prepared for pretty much any situation and this would be a great option for anyone looking to provide bare essentials.

False advertising, the picture for the .5 kit shows a nice watertight bag like the rest of them and instead I recieved a cheap rattling tin can with NO waterproof capabilities. The contents themselves seem quality.

bought two, one for my car and one for my fiances car. I feel like I cut our chances of death down by about 4%. But I don't think minor scrapes and wounds will be a problem. Adding a few things to this will make the kit much more complete. a glow stick, a lighter, 20 bucks, TCP liquid, mylar blanket. Do what you want with it! The bag is fantastic, love the bag. Compact. I really cant find any cons with it.

Note, I did not have the problem that others had, expired medications, mine were just fine.

It is indeed lightweight and has well thought out contents. For those curious, the difference between the .5 and .7 kits is small: the .7 contains one more large bandaid, a pair of gloves, a length of duct tape, and the medical tape is 1" wide instead of 1/2". If the .5 is cheaper, just get that and stick some gloves and duct tape in it.

Waterproof seal fails - could be better

I like the kit and contents. My only issue is with the inner, waterproof bag, DryFlex Bag. The ziploc portion failed on the bag. The ziploc closure got stuck on one side of the bag and removed from the other side of the bag. The glue that holds the ziploc in place failed. Now the medical kit is no longer waterproof, nor am I am able to close the inner waterproof bag at all. There is no way to seal it.

They need to work on making the seal better. Sure I opened it several times, but this failure happened in under a year. That is pretty quick.

wasn't truly happy with this product and the "waterproof" packaging. When it arrived there were loose first aide supplies floating freely inside the main bag that broken out of the second inner bag. Worried that this kit will not hold up to a multi-day hiking journey let alone keep it dry. Maybe better off with another form of dry storage. I have to say it was very light, but sacrifice durability.
